This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to improve their track craft in the art of sprinting and all levels will be catered for. It’s perfect preparation for riders thinking ahead to the WBOP, Auckland and National track champs.
Yes, Matt Archibald will be your coach! We can’t think of someone more qualified to guide you through a 13 week programme covering the basics of the 4 sprint events – Keirin, Match Sprint, Time Trial and Team Sprint. Matt will oversee a complete training programme and you have the opportunity to be part of our very first specialised sprint school!
Spaces are limited to 18 rider’s aged 16+ (exceptions will be considered), accredited track riders male and female.
Participation is by registration to enrol in the entire 13 week programme. More details below!
PROGRAMME MEMBERSHIP INCLUDES:
*Includes CHS Sessions and Friday night racing (for students)
16th September – 9th December 2018 (week prior to WBOP Centre Track Champs)
Training will take place every Sunday from 16th September through until 9th December from 2pm – 5pm (with the exception of 11th November when training will be moved to Saturday 10th).
$495 per person.
Payment must be received prior to commencement of training to secure your place in the sprint school as numbers are strictly limited.

On the bike:
Matt Archibald has over 5 years’ first-hand experience as a professional cyclist having represented New Zealand at 4 world championships. Matt has won medals at National, Oceania, Commonwealth, and World levels.
As a coach:
Matt has worked for 3 years at New Zealand’s first indoor velodrome supporting riders of all age groups and abilities. As well as personally coaching several athletes to age group, elite and world para championships over the past 6 years. He has also previously coached right here at the Avantidrome too!
Outside the velodrome:
As well as hands on experience riding and coaching, Matt has significant expertise outside of the velodrome. He has a bachelor’s degree in exercise prescription, 4 years’ experience working as a personal trainer as well as 3 years helping rehabilitate people with disabilities.
