July 2018 School Holiday Programme Sessions

Our popular School Holiday Programme is a great way to get the kids into track cycling if they’ve never ridden the track before, and also to provide the opportunity for more intensive daily sessions for those who are more experienced to help master the skills required to progress to the next level in their track riding.

The holiday programme has been brought into line with our new Junior Programme with regard to levels and there are now 3 different levels the kids can attend for these holiday sessions.

All programmes include bike, helmet hire and an Avantidrome Coach.

A minimum of 5 riders is required to run each programme.

Please note: Children must be 135 m in height and at least 9 years old to ride the track at the Avantidrome.

Spaces are limited and booking is essential.

Payment must be made prior to the start of the school holiday programme and you can book and pay online.

Click on the relevant programme link below to register and pay. Please contact reception on 07 823 1421 if you require further assistance with this.

Holiday Programme – Learn to Ride

For those children who are not yet accredited riders, there will be a series of 1.5 hour classes in each week of the holidays.

These sessions are designed for children who are beginners on the Velodrome and haven’t completed their accreditation. It caters for children who have never ridden the track before and are keen to be accredited.

It is recommended children attend each day throughout one week of this programme to build the necessary skills required to ride safely and competently on the velodrome.

Participation in these sessions does not automatically guarantee accreditation as this depends on the progress of the individual toward meeting the necessary requirements. If accreditation is achieved in Week 1 then they are able to attend the Learn to Race sessions in the second week.

All you need to bring is shorts, tee shirt (no singlets please) and covered shoes. Wear cycling clothing if you have it.
