January 2018 School Holiday Programme Sessions

This summer school holidays we’ll be running our popular holiday sessions once again with both Level 1 and Level 2 sessions running at times across the week of 22 January.

All programmes include bike, helmet hire and an Avantidrome Coach

Booking is essential and classes must be booked and pre-paid prior to the start of the school holiday programme. A minimum of 5 riders is required to run each programme.

Please note :Children must be 10years or older to ride in the Avantidrome.


Holiday Programme – Level 1: (Limited to 15 riders)

For those children who are not yet accredited riders, there will be a 1 to 1 1/2 hour accreditation class from Wednesday 24th through Friday 26th.

These sessions are designed for children who are beginners on the Velodrome and haven’t completed their accreditation. It caters for children who have never ridden the track before and are keen to be accredited. It is recommended children book in to each day of this level 1 programme to build the necessary skills required to ride safely and competently on the velodrome however participation in these sessions does not automatically guarantee accreditation as this depends on the progress of the individual toward meeting the necessary requirements.

All you need to bring is shorts, tee shirt (no singlets please) and covered shoes. Wear cycling clothing if you have it.

  • Wednesday 24th January: 10-11.30am (1 1/2 hours)
  • Thursday 25th January: 10-11.30am (1 1/2 hours)
  • Friday 26th January: 10-11am (1 hour only)

Holiday Programme – Level 2 : (Limited to 15 riders)

These sessions are designed for children that have already completed their accreditation and want to learn skills to prepare for racing, get stronger and also have the opportunity to use the start gates.

You will be taught how to lap correctly and will be challenged for the week – these sessions are 90 minutes long so provide a good work out each day.

Bring shorts, tee shirt and covered shoes. Wear cycling clothing if you have it.

  • Tuesday 23rd January: 4-5pm
  • Wednesday 24th January: 4-5pm
  • Thursday 25th January: 4-5pm
  • Friday 26th January: 4-5pm
